Beautiful color photos from 1940s

Check out Denver Post's display of 70 color photographs from the early 1940s... Timeless - classic - and Perfect!

It is funny to me to see color photos from the early 1940s b/c i have never glimpsed a color photo of my mom as a child. I understand that the color technology was probally very expensive back then therefore most families didn't have color slide technology. The photos all have such great detail - and show what the world was like then. A time of simplicity.

*****Photo details: Women workers employed as wipers in the roundhouse having lunch in their rest room, Chicago and Northwest Railway Company. Clinton, Iowa, April 1943. Reproduction from color slide. Photo by Jack Delano. Prints and Photographs Division, Library of Congress
